JESS MORGAN AND KITTY MACFARLANE
“something truly special.” - Folk Radio UK
“making waves and turning heads” – R2 Magazine
Jess Morgan is a songwriter’s songwriter. A cerebral storyteller – she takes her cue from roots music and contemporary and upfront British voices like Billy Bragg and storytellers from across the Atlantic like Rod Picot and Gretchen Peters.
In April 2017 Jess and her label released the album Edison Gloriette on Oxblood coloured vinyl. BBC Wales linchpin Adam Walton said on first play – “it’s a blinder.” The record was also well supported by the BBC Folk Show and BBC 6 Music.
As well as crafting songs, Jess has also made a name for herself for her hands-on approach to producing music – gaining momentum through limited edition releases, short runs and most recently her own DIY 7? vinyl records.

'Exciting young talent' - The Guardian
'In my view: authentic emotion. That and talent of course' - Tom Robinson, BBC6Music
Kitty Macfarlane is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Somerset. Her lyrics combine honest snapshots of humanity with the bigger questions that have connected minds and voices for centuries.
Kitty's songs are charged with a sense of place – more often than not her home of Somerset. From questions of global belonging and rights to land, to songs of the anecdotal everyday, music that reflects today's environmental issues and the clockwork passage of humans, creatures, even drifting continents, across our planet.
Her debut EP, Tide & Time, received outstanding reviews and national airplay on the BBC Radio 2 Folk Show and Tom Robinson's show on BBC6 Music, and a Kitty has been selected by PRS as a recipient of the Lynsey de Paul Prize for 2017.
